BEACHES
New Smyrna Beach has beautiful beaches and is well known for its surf. Please obey lifeguards during high tide and especially on those occasions when rip tides are at a peak.
There are beach items available for your use in the garage. Please rinse off excess sand before returning and be sure you have everything you left with! There are beach towels also available. Please use these towels for the beach and not bath towels.
If you've visited before, you may find that since the hurricane season of 2004, there have been some mother nature induced changes. The driving areas and auto access is severely limited compared to the past. For the most part, the area south of Flagler is no longer auto accessible. Check back for updates as the Army Corps of Engineers plans sand pumping and Volusia county reopens auto access points. Don’t forget to stroll Flagler Avenue beachside for fun souvenir and boutique shopping!
| North Beach area North of Flagler. We like the access at Beachway, but we choose to stay about a mile south of the inlet unless we're fishing. The Rocks are slippery and dangerous! There is also seriously dangerous marine wildlife especially at the tide changes. | Prior to all the beach closures due to the hurricane erosion, we liked the public parking and access at Hiles Blvd., south of 27th street. It used to be the first section of no auto traffic and is surrounded by a quiet residential area with some beautiful homes. |
